A couple of months ago, I posted about laundry and how I hate it so much! I still hate it (for the record) but I wanted to share how I get the kiddos to help with putting it away.
On Peanut and Pumpkin's dressers, I have pictures of the items that go in each drawer. This also helps for when they pick out their clothes for the week. You can read that post here. On Sunday, we pick out the clothes for the week, this helps us to stay organized, me to make sure that all of the laundry is caught up on, and teaches the kiddos decision making and responsibility. Once their outfits are approved they are not allowed to change them.
Having the pictures on the drawers, means I can easily tell the kiddos to put their clothes away and I know they will at least in theory, end up in the correct spot. My favorite part about this is system, is the kiddos can help, and learn to be responsible and it brings a bit of Montessori into my household.
Simple and effective.
